Volunteer Opportunities
There
are many opportunities available for volunteers here at Waite Middle
School. From groups that work together monthly to the occasional
field trip or special event at the school, we need and want parents
to volunteer and help! Call today (562) 921-7981 to find out how you
can help make Waite great!
Shared
Decision Making Committee (SDMC)
This committee, which includes
teachers, office workers, school administration, students, and
parents, meets once a month. During the meetings they discuss
important topics and make important decisions for the success of our
school. We are always interested in more parents getting involved so
please volunteer today!
Parent-Teacher-Student-Association
(PTSA)
This team, led by our student’s
parents, is an excellent opportunity to be involved with the school.
At monthly meetings, school and parent communication is improved.
The meetings help to highlight special programs and issues currently
going on at Waite. Help support your child’s school by joining
other parents in the PTSA!
English
Learners Advisory Committee (ELAC)
This committee
meets on the first Friday of each month. The main focus of these
meetings is to involve parents of English learners in our school.
Additionally, we have been able to offer parent education classes on
topics that the group chooses. We hope to encourage everyone to be
involved in this monthly meeting.
Field
Trips and Special Events
Do you know of a
field trip or special event that your child is going to participate
in! Now is the time to volunteer to chaperone or help out at the
event! Examples include museum visits,, college trips, Medieval
Times and Disneyland trips, the Mother-Daughter Tea, the annual
Fashion Show, the Drama Production, Holiday Dinner Dance, Science
Camp, and more!
